Dementia Caregiver Support

**This group meets at New Salem Counseling (5101 Country Club Road)** This group will meet the second Sunday of the month from 4:00-5:30p It is a faith-based small group providing encouragement, education, and support for care-partners of a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia. The group is facilitated by Dr. Ed Shaw, physician, mental health counselor, author, and past dementia caregiver, his wife Claire, also a past dementia caregiver, and Dr. Jo Cleveland, geriatrician and dementia diagnosis and care specialist. Each session includes prayer and a devotion and an opportunity to share challenges, brainstorm solutions, gain insight, and receive hope. Recommended resources include: Keeping Love Alive as Memories Fade: The 5 Love Languages and the Alzheimer’s Journey, and Grace for the Unexpected Journey – Devotional for Caregivers.
